The most basic DSLRs in its category are the Canon EOS Rebel T6. For high definition picture quality, it is a point-and-shoot camera with a large sensor. In April 2016, Canon launched its EOS Rebel T6. It is the most affordable entry-level DSLR that was offered at the time by Canon.

Step 1. Basic programmed auto mode

The Canon EOS Rebel T6 flip-out screen camera has an automatic mode in which the camera decides the subject’s shutter speed and aperture settings. This mode works wonders in photography for beginners. The camera sets the aperture to ensure precise exposure, on its own and at the same time.

Step 2. Making use of the flash settings

If you are taking indoor portraits, we suggest that you shoot using ambient light instead of a camera flash for softer, red-eye-free lighting. With Portrait mode, however, if the camera thinks more light is required, you can’t inactivate the flash.

A flash is normally not required for portraits shot outside, but it adds a beam of light to the faces of the subjects. Click the Flash button on the side of the camera to allow a flash in AV exposure mode.

Step 3. Choosing the shutter priority

The camera selects the appropriate aperture until you choose the shutter speed. If you’re using Live View, pick a shutter speed of around 1/125 seconds or faster. When using slower shutter speeds, we urge you to aim with the viewfinder.

Use a shutter speed of 1/200 seconds or faster to freeze the action. If you want to blur pictures, set the shutter speed to 1/60 seconds or lower when you select a portrait. Note that the fastest shutter speed the camera allows is 1/200 second when using the flash, so the shutter and the flash synchronize with each other.

Step 4. Choosing the aperture priority

The shooting of a portrait in aperture priority mode has many advantages. You can monitor the subject’s depth-of-field. The smaller the f-number (f/2.0), the greater the opening would be. It allows more light to penetrate the camera to provide a shallow depth-of-field for exposure, ideal for portraits. This setting blurs the context and the main subject is highlighted.

Step 5. Portrait Manual Mode with Canon t6

In Manual Mode, you can set both the shutter speed and the aperture. In the viewfinder or on the screen, track the exposure scale. The picture is optimally exposed when the mark is in the middle. You can easily adjust the shutter velocity and aperture to improve the amount of light entering the camera if the exposure is not to your taste.
