If you’re looking to stream games on twitch, you’ve already heard about the OBS and XSplit platforms. All free broadcast systems have their own pros and cons, so it’s hard to tell which one is better. So, I’ve decided to study the ins & outs of both the systems, and then I’m going to conclude at the end which program is best for you. So let’s start the “XSplit vs OBS” fight and determine which one is the best tool?

XSplit vs OBS: Pricing

OBS is completely free software with all features, while XSplit is free only for the Gimped version and charges around $2.50/month to provide premium services. But we should also consider the premium features that come with it while making a difference. Also, OBS has decent video quality compared to XSplit, which has a simulated green screen when streaming. OBS has no overlay screen, while the XSplit includes an overlay screen with a lot of features that will help with better streaming.

Winner: OBS wins the game as it offers enough functionality for the free kit.

OBS vs XSplit: Performance

Both devices are capable of streaming games with 720p at 30 fps with just a slight drop in performance, but they can’t do that at 60 fps. But the OBS will meet the 60 fps threshold at 1152×658 that the XSplit can not achieve. The OBS is also capable of managing heavy streaming games compared to the XSplit app. So, which one of them is the winner of the section? Obviously, OBS can be a winner because of its 60 fps video streaming capability.

Winner: OBS

OBS vs XSplit: Plugins and Customization

OBS has a separate plugin library, while XSplit doesn’t even have one plugin that can be listed here. The OBS also provides more customization options and better control over the XSplit app. It has no set of customization options and is easy to use only at the initial stage. Since XSplit needs more technical skills, you have to choose it if you’re a technician. If you don’t have technical knowledge, don’t worry, you still have the choice to choose OBS.

Winner: OBS

XSplit vs OBS: Ease of Use

While the OBS does not have a decent interface, I find the XSplit streamer much easier to operate than the OBS. XSplit provides an elegant interface with less advanced features, so beginners may not be confused. While the XSplit offers a vast library of on-screen apps, it will be simple for you to create videos without spending too much time. I like all of these features laid out in the XSplit as they help me stream crazy-speed videos, and I can stream video with a quick click to start and stop the video.

Winner: XSplit

OBS vs XSplit: Integration Abilities

Both OBS and XSplit have an impressive ability to combine. But if both of them have the same meaning, then why did I add it to this battle? In this case, the aspect that brings XSplit above the OBS is that it provides an extra feature that you can use to add applications for different connections, while the OBS is unable to do so. But that doesn’t mean that the OBS is a total slacker. Thought it has a wide variety of methods that you can use to incorporate other apps as well.

Winner: XSplit

OBS or XSplit: Which One is Better?

As you can see, the OBS has been used in most of the parts above, but it doesn’t mean it’s going to work best for you. If you ask me, I’m going to recommend you go to OBS, but you can also choose another one.

So, what do you think about them? What app are you using to stream videos? Do you have any questions about this post? Let me know in the comment section below, and we’d love to talk to you about it.
