What is WDF_VIOLATION?

PDF stands for Windows Driver Frameworks. This collection includes Microsoft tools and libraries that can be used to create device drivers for Windows 2000 and later. WDF_VIOLATION is Windows’s detection of an error in a driver-based driver framework.

How can you fix the WDF_VIOLATION bluescreen issue on Windows 10 These solutions are available one by one.
Solution 1: Disable the HP keyboard driver
Faulty HpqKbFiltr.sys driver causes the WDF_VIOLATION BSOD error. You can fix this issue by uninstalling or renaming the affected driver. This is a recommended solution for HP users.
Step 1 – Open Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE).
Tip: Windows will attempt to enter WinRE to repair the system if it is unable to boot. If Windows fails to turn off your computer three times, it will not allow you to enter WinRE. Or you can use the installation media.
Step 2Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Option > Command Prompt.
Step 3 Enter the following command depending on your Windows version, and hit Enter to delete HpqKbFiltr.sys.
- 32-bit Windows version dism /Image :C/Remove Driver /Driver C:WindowsSystem32DriverStoreFileRepositoryhpqkbfiltr.inf_x86_f1527018cecbbb8c2HpqKbFiltr.inf
- 64-bit Windows version dism /Image :C:/Remove Driver/Driver: C:WindowsSystem32driverstoreFileRepositoryhpqkbfiltr.inf_amd64_714aca0508a80e9aHpqKbFiltr.inf
Step 4Exit WinRE to confirm that the wdf violation error has been fixed.
Solution 2: Disconnect all USB Peripherals
The pdf violation error could also be caused by USB peripherals. You may need to unplug all USB peripherals such as your camera, microphone, mouse, and camera to fix the error.
If it’s not working, you can disable USB ports from BIOS.
Tip: Different keys may be available depending on the BIOS version. These keys can be used to disable USB ports or enter BIOS. These steps are only a guideline and you should always follow the instructions on your screen.
Step 1: Restart your computer and press F2 or Del to activate BIOS.
Step 2 Navigate To Advanced Tab > Other Devices> External USB Ports In BIOS And Disable External USB Ports
Step 3 Save your BIOS and exit it.
Once it’s done, restart your computer and check if WDF_VIOLATION is resolved.
Solution 3: In Safe Mode, Disable Bluetooth Driver
Some users reported that they were capable of removing the stop code wdf_violation by uninstalling the Bluetooth driver. You can also try Safe Mode to get rid of the driver if the above fails.
Step 1Register to WinRE and clickTroubleshooting> AdvancedThere are many options> StartupSettings>RestartStart Settings
Step 2 To activate Safe Mode With Networking, press F5 to select “Enable Secure Mode with Security”. This will put your computer in Safe Mode.
Step 3 Click Win+ X to choose Device Manager from the dropdown menu.
Step 4: Locate your Bluetooth driver by right-clicking it. Next, click Uninstall device.
Step 5:In the pop-up window, click Uninstall.
Then, restart your computer to verify it is functioning properly.

Solution 4: Start Startup Reconstruction
Startup Repair is a great option if Windows Safe Mode has stopped working.
WinRE offers Startup Repair. You can also boot your computer with a Windows installation disk. Click Repair.
Next, go to Troubleshoot > Advanced > Startup Repair. Select the operating system that you want to repair. Windows will then locate and fix the problem and allow you to restart your computer.
Solution 5: Perform a System Restore
A system restore is another way to fix WDF_VIOLATION. System Restore can be used to restore Windows to its original state, which is useful for slow computers.
If you have created a restore point before, you can make one. This will allow you to restore your system and fix WDF_VIOLATION problems. These are the steps:
Step 1Click Win+S in Safe Mode to open Search. Next, type restores in the box and choose to Create a restored point from the results.
Step 2 Click on the System Protection tab and then System Restore.
Step 3 Once the System Restore window opens, click Next.
Step 4 – Select the restore point you want to use and click Next.
Step 5 Follow the instructions on the screen to complete the process.
Solution 6: Run System File Checker
WDF_VIOLATION could also be caused by corrupted system files. Run System File Checker in Windows 10Safe Mode to fix the problem.
Step 1: Run the command prompt as an administrator.
Step 2 Type the command SFC/scannow and hit the Enter key. Wait for the System File Check to complete. Reboot your computer to verify that WDF_VIOLATION has been displayed.
Solution 7: Reset Windows, or Reinstall Windows
If you still experience WDF_VIOLATION bluescreen problems after trying the above solutions, you can reinstall Windows and reset your computer.
