Cloud security company Ermetic emerged from secrecy this week with a framework that automates the identification and remediation of identity and access-based threats.

The business, based in Israel, was founded by Shai Morag (CEO), Sivan Krigsman (Chief Product Officer), Arick Goomanovsky (Chief Business Officer) and Michael Dolinsky (CTO). The founders were previously involved in the construction of Aorato (acquired by Microsoft), Secdo (acquired by Palo Alto Networks) and Sygnia (acquired by Singaporean investment firm Temasek).

The company’s analytics-based framework, which is instantly accessible, is designed to automatically discover all identities in the cloud, and analyzes policies and permissions to detect and remediate access risks.

The platform also provides policy compliance features, anomaly detection, automated policy access generation, and benchmark and best practice auditing.

Ermetic also announced that it has recently raised $10 million from Glilot Capital Partners, Norwest Venture Partners and Target Global.

“Monitoring and managing cloud access threats is difficult and becomes much more complicated over time as users and applications accumulate permits that far exceed their technical and business requirements, resulting in vulnerabilities that hackers can actively exploit,” Morag said.

He added, “Using analytics and automation, Ermetic removes the manual effort and costs associated with deciding the exact permissions required for each user, service or application in complex environments such as AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud.”
