How to return DirecTV DSL equipment
Your modem or Wi-Fi gateway are items that you can return as a DSL subscriber. If they are defective, you can return them for a replacement.
You have one year from the date of installation or shipment to return them.
- Contact DirecTV. The company will send you a pre-paid UPS shipping label. You will also receive a return authorization number with the shipping label.
- As much as possible, keep the items in their original boxes.
- Write the number on the box. The company won’t accept parcels that arrive without the return authorization number.
- You can leave the box at an authorized UPS Store near you. This is also the address for the equipment return.
DirecTV cannot accept any item or issue credits after 30 calendar days unless the item is defective. The return process can take up to 2 weeks.
How to return DIRECTV and U-verse TV, AT&T Internet, and Fixed Wireless Internet equipment
You don’t need to keep the items in original boxes. Instead, you can take the items along with your 9-digit account numbers to a UPS Store near you or FedEx Office.
You might contact the company to find out if you can return the equipment personally. You will see the account number on your bill if you don’t know it.
After you return the items to the locations listed, the companies will pack them and send them to DirecTV for free. To confirm your return, you will receive a receipt.
How to return in-warranty equipment that is defective
DirecTV provides a 90-day warranty on equipment from the date of installation. If the items you received become defective within 90 days, contact the company for more information. Further instructions will be sent to you.
The company might charge you a fee if you have to return equipment that has been damaged by abuse. You can also dispute it.
It may not always be possible to return DirecTV’s access card. The company should mail you a return envelope within thirty days of the date that your account was closed. You can recycle the envelope or dispose of it in the same manner as a credit card if you don’t receive it.
