How to Reset Nikon D3400 to Factory Settings?
Restoring Default Settings On Nikon D3400. Nikon D3400 Reset
Step One: Selecting The Shooting Menu
The first step in restoring your Nikon D3400 camera’s default settings is to find the shooting menu on it. After the shooting menu has been located, click on it to open a list of choices. You have to select the reset shooting menu option from these different choices. Choosing this reset option will reset the default setting in this menu for all shooting related settings.
Step Two: Selecting Set Up Menu
You must first find the setup menu on your Nikon D3400 camera if you want to reset the settings on your setup menu back to normal. After the setup menu is found, click on it to open it. You’ll be able to see the options list. Click the Reset Setup button to return to the default settings in the Setup menu.
Step Three: Choosing To Reset All Settings Option
If you want to take a more drastic measure and change almost all the settings on your Nikon D3400 camera back to the default ones, then you can do so. To do so, you have to open the setup menu first. Look for, and click on, the setup menu. You will be able to see a list of choices after opening it up. To find the ‘Reset all settings’ option below, you have to scroll downwards. To choose it, you have to click on this option. Your Nikon D3400 camera switches back to the default settings at all locations when you select this option. The language, date, time zone, and guide are the only exceptions.
Step Four: Looking After The File Number Sequence Option
You have to make sure that certain choices are given special notice when you decide to restore all settings to the factory edition. The File Number Series is one of these choices. If you choose to reset the configuration menu, or choose to reset all settings, the File Number Sequence option is also changed to its default setting. The settings in the factory for this option are off. This is not a good idea as when you are using your Nikon D3400 camera, it can cause issues. After resetting everything, you have to go back to the File Number Sequence option. Turn the settings on, and they’ll be back to normal again.
Step Five: Default Settings For Options Not On The Shooting Menu
When you decide to reset the shooting menu, there are a few choices that are updated to their factory settings. Flash compensation, exposure compensation, flash mode, release mode and selected focus point are some of these choices. You will also remember that even though they are not on the shooting menu, the AF L / AE L buttons are changed back to their default settings. You have to visit these options separately if you want the customization to be there with these options. Click on these options and individually select your customization for each choice.
