How to Activate Siri on iPhone XR?

Siri is a nifty feature that makes your experience with your iPhone, seamless.. If you have recently upgraded to a newer version of the iPhone i.e Iphone XR and, for some reason, did not activate Siri during the set-up process, or have accidentally disabled or find your Siri microphone not working, then it can be quite frustrating. However, you can get your Siri back up and running in no time at all with a few easy steps.

Activating Siri On Your iPhone XR:

You can access Siri either with voice command or by pressing the side button. Here is how you can ensure that you can use Siri on your iPhone:

Step 1.

Go to the Settings app on your iPhone and scroll until you locate the “Siri & Search” option.

Step 2.

Click on the option and head to the Ask Siri section.

Step 3.

Here you can find the option ‘Listen to’ Hey Siri ” that you can trigger to access Siri by voice command, or you can activate the option ‘Click Siri Side Button’ if you choose not to use voice commands, or you can activate both.

Step 4.

If this is the first time that you are activating Siri on your phone, then you will have to click on the enable Siri option to ensure that Siri is activated.

Step 5.

If you opt for activating Siri using voice command, then Siri will familiarize itself with your voice by asking you to repeat a few routine commands out loud.

Step 6.

After the voice recognition process is done, you can select the “Done” option to finish activating Siri.

Step 7.

You can also trigger the Type to Siri option so that if you choose not to voice commands out loud, you can type in your commands to Siri after it has been activated; by turning on this function, you can use voice commands as well as type to Siri when you are in a busy area or when you don’t feel like voicing commands out loud.

Step 8.

Exit the Settings app and test out Siri by either using the voice command or by pressing the Side Button.

Step 9.

You can swipe back to the home screen from the very bottom of your screen after Siri has been triggered, or you can say or type “Bye Siri.”

Getting used to using Siri can be a bit of a struggle without the precious home button. Since Siri can be triggered easily by pressing the side (or power) button for a little too long, as Siri can get activated by mistake very often, you need to be careful about how you treat your phone. Siri is a useful tool, however, and you can now get a lot more done thanks to Siri with the latest iOS 12 update.
