DNS probe possible windows 7 – Here we can see “DNS probe finished no internet windows 7”

How to Fix DNS Probe Finished Without Internet Error Easily

It was a typical day. I woke up and started my work on my laptop. I opened Chrome, but to my frustration, I used to be greeted with “DNS Probe Finished No Internet” or “DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET” error on Google Chrome. I tried to connect to my stable wifi connection, but the error kept coming up. It worked perfectly after I connected my phone to another wifi connection. This was the problem with my laptop.

I searched online for a solution and found some guides on “DNS Probe Completed No Internet”, but they weren’t all complete. This is why I decided to create this guide once I had fixed the problem. My laptop had a DNS problem that I fixed by changing my DNS to Google DNS. The entire process will be explained later in this guide. It can also be caused by a minor problem. I will even walk you through all the steps to fix DNS Probe Finished No Internet Error on Windows 7, 8, 8.1, or 10.

Get into the Cyber Security Career now!

How to Fix DNS Probe Finished Without Internet Error Easily

Here, I’ll show you many methods by which you’ll fix the DNS_PROBE_FINISHED_NO_INTERNET error that you’re currently facing on Chrome on your system. These methods are listed in ascending order of difficulty, at least for me. If the first method doesn’t work, you can always try a second one.

Method 1: Clear Google Chrome’s DNS cache

Clearing your DNS in Chrome is often the easiest way to resolve the DNS probe.

Note: This only applies to Google Chrome, other browsers should follow the following.

Step 1Visit this URL in your Chrome browser: ‘chrome://net-internals/#dns’.

Step 2Click the “Clear Host Cache” button in the screenshot.

Step 3Verify if the error has been fixed.

Method 2: Change DNS to Google DNS or OpenDNS

This is the simplest method. It worked for me and may work for you. You can change your DNS to Google DNS.

Step 1Go to Network Connection from your Windows PC. You can also visit the Network Connection section of your Windows PC. Windows 10You can quickly access that information by right-clicking the Windows Logo and clicking on the Network Connections menu. In previous Windows versions, Network Connections could be accessed by opening the instrument panel.

Step 2Right-click the Network connection icon that you are currently using and click on Properties.

Step 3Find the option “Internet Protocol Version 4” and click on it. Click on Properties.

Step 4You will now see two options: “Obtain DNS server address automatically” and “Use subsequent DNS server addresses:”. You can choose from either of these options, and they will be used by default. Now you have chosen “Use the next DNS server addresses” and you need to modify the values in this field.

Step 5:Use the following values in these preferred and alternate DNS server fields:

  • Preferred DNS server 8.8.8.8
  • Alternate DNS server 8.8.4.4

OpenDNS is another option. These values will help you do that:

  • Preferred DNS server: 206.7.222.222
  • Alternate DNS server: 206.72.20.220

Click ‘OK. That’s all.

Close your browser and restart it if necessary. Now you can check if the internet is available to you. To fix DNS Probe Finished No Internet error, please follow the next steps.

Method 3: Use promptly to Reset DNS

To quickly resolve this issue, you can use Windows’ prompt. First, you’ll open the prompt by typing in ‘cmd’ within the Windows search. To open the prompt as an administrator, press CTRL+SHIFT+ENTER. If the prompt asks you for administrator privileges please check in with your account, which has administrator rights.

You now want to enter the following command at the command prompt

Netsh Winsock reset

Now, press the “Enter” key.

Restart your computer.

Check if your internet works after rebooting. If not, follow the next steps.

Method 4: Use the prompt to Release and Renew your IP address

Enter administrator rights to access the prompt. To do this, follow the instructions in the previous method. This method releases and renews your IP address.

Once you are in prompt, type the following command:

ipconfig/release

Enter the code.

Enter the following command.

ipconfig /renew

Use the Enter key to enter

Notice: There’s an area in between ipconfig and ‘/’ (the forward-slash).

Next, you’ve to flush the DNS using the subsequent command:

ipconfig /flushdns

After entering the command, hit the Enter key.

Once it is complete, restart your computer. Once the restart is completed, verify that your system can attach to the internet.

Method 5: Clear Cache in Chrome

These steps will fix Google Chrome’s DNS probe that failed to connect.

Clearing cache in Google Chrome is possible. These steps will help you clear your Chrome cache:

Step 1In the upper right corner, click on the three dots menu. therein click on ‘Settings.’

Step 2Scroll down and you will see ‘Show advanced setting, click thereon. Click on the Clear Browsing Data’ option under Privacy Settings.

Step 3Check ‘Cookies, other site and plugin data, and ‘Cached files and images. Next, click ‘Clear browsing information.

That’s all. Restart Chrome, and you should be able to connect.

Method 6: Reinstall Chrome, or try other browsers

If this doesn’t work, you can reinstall Chrome to see if it solves your problem. These steps will help you uninstall any Windows application that you don’t know how to do.

These steps will apply to Windows 10.

Step 1Click on “Settings” in the top menu.

Step 2Next, click on the “System” button.

Step 3Select ‘Apps and features. Select Google Chrome from the available apps. Click on “Uninstall” To verify that you have uninstalled the program, click on the button in the crop top.

After you uninstalled Chrome, attend Google in Edge or Internet Explorer and look for Google Chrome and install it once more.

If you don’t already have another browser installed, you can try installing them. Firefox and Opera might be good choices. To download the browsers, click the buttons below.

Method 7: Update drivers

If the problem persists, the network adapter driver on your system may be to blame. To resolve the DNS Probe Finished with no Internet error, you can update the network adapter driver. Here are the steps you can follow to accomplish this:

Step 1Enter “Device Manager” in Windows Search to open it. The instrument panel will also have an equivalent.

Step 2Click on the Expand button in the Device Manager window to see “Network adapters”.

Step 3There are many options available! You’ll find a list of options! Next, click the “Update Driver Software” option.

Step 4 Click on ‘Browse my computer for driver software. Next, click on ‘Let us choose from a list of device drivers for our computer.

Step 5:Click on Next to select your network hardware. For this, you might need the WLAN Driver CD. Please make sure you have the driving force CD.

Step 6You’ll see the success of the driving force update on the next screen. Once it is successful, you will see the solution to your problem and be able to connect to the internet.

Method 8: Disable any Web monitoring/filtering application

To determine if the problem is caused by a quiet web monitoring or filtering program installed on your computer you can disable or uninstall it. This issue can be caused by custom firewall programs like the COMODO firewall. You can try disabling them to see if the connection is working. If the connection is still working after you disable them, uninstall it from your computer.

Conclusion: The DNS Probe Fixing Process is Complete.

So that’s it, guys, that was all the solutions I could find for the Dns_Probe_Finished_No_Internet error. I hope you found this post helpful in fixing the DNS probe completed with no Internet errors that you were experiencing. Please comment below to let me know if you found this helpful. Let me know if you don’t like these methods.
