Casey knew from an early age that she wanted to attend occupational therapy school, and has worked diligently towards this goal by taking challenging classes and conducting research projects.

Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapy (OT) is an area of practice that examines daily living activities and their corresponding physical and psychological components that impede participation. OT practitioners strive to help individuals overcome barriers that prevent them from performing everyday tasks like going to work, taking a shower, caring for family or completing everyday tasks such as going shopping. Furthermore, they provide intervention tailored to an individual’s family, social context, culture or suggest adaptations for home environments in order to increase safety and independence.

Occupational Therapists work with patients of all ages in various settings – from hospitals to hospice. Their focus can range from helping reclaim basic functions like cooking or cleaning to meeting emotional and psychological needs of people living with severe disabilities. Furthermore, OTs can even teach their patients coping mechanisms so that they can live their life fully.

An occupational therapist (OT) can be invaluable to elderly individuals suffering from stroke or other health-related conditions. An OT can assist these people in doing the things that matter to them and maintain their wellbeing by finding ways to make their home safer, introducing new activities with family and friends, or improving their ability to get around independently. In addition, an OT can help these people connect to their communities by attending community events or volunteering at local hospitals.

Casey Fleming has been working towards her goal of becoming an occupational therapist (OT) since high school, crediting her success to her hard work and commitment. To become successful OTs themselves, Casey advises future students to complete shadowing hours, participate in research studies, enroll in GRE prep courses and form meaningful connections with faculty members through student organizations or make meaningful relationships within an OT program. She’s proud of her achievements so far and hopes to attend OT school next fall; one day opening up her own clinic to treat both children and adults!

Mortuary Science

Mortuary science is a college curriculum that equips individuals for work in the funeral industry. This may involve earning a bachelor’s degree in funeral service and mortuary science as well as developing embalming techniques and performing funeral services. Furthermore, some states mandate licensing requirements for funeral directors and embalmers.

Mortuary science careers may sound dismal, but they can actually be highly rewarding. Funeral directorship provides the chance to comfort grieving families while paying final respects to those we have lost – making mortuary science an ideal career option for people looking for ways to assist others during difficult times.

Funeral workers in the US can earn either an associate degree or bachelor’s degree in mortuary science. An associate degree typically requires two years and provides enough preparation to sit either a state or national board exam; bachelor’s degrees often feature practica that allow students to gain hands-on experience within funeral profession.

Many are surprised to learn that funeral directors and embalmers often experience great job satisfaction in their jobs as funeral workers. Many consider it their professional and personal calling to comfort grieving individuals while showing reverence for those they’ve lost.

Funeral workers need to be great communicators and empaths; able to handle stressful situations with grace and humor. Furthermore, being physically and emotionally resilient are also key traits. Being a mortician can be extremely demanding.

An average funeral home employs around 20 workers, including a director and assistant directors. Their duties may include helping families write obituaries and eulogies for loved ones who have passed on, conducting the funeral ceremony itself, as well as preparing death certificates, disposition permits, notices, obituary notices and government benefit forms for filing.

Funeral directors and embalmers licensed under state regulations must possess knowledge in anatomy, funeral planning and public health. Furthermore, these professionals are accountable for preparing cadavers, maintaining and cleaning facilities as well as working closely with family members and loved ones in mourning processes. Furthermore, they should have knowledge on legal and ethical matters surrounding the industry.
