Fix Error 0xa00f4244 Camera not Working Error

Updated on September 8th 2016.

There is another very simple explanation of why you are having this error code, aside from the 3 explanations listed above. We will share it ourselves in the 1st method and will continue to see 3 more ways to correct this error code in Windows 10.

Method 1: Activating Camera

Turn on Camera to fix 0xa00f4244

This is a very important issue that is overlooked by all of us. You first need to toggle on the video. If you have just enabled Windows 10, it is possible that your webcam will be switched off and you will be given an error of 0xa00f4244 every time you start the camera.

Do the following to activate/activate the camera:

  • Go to Start > Configurations. Or press the Win+I key to open the Windows 10 settings.
  • From the Options presented in the Settings Window, press Privacy.
  • Pick a camera from the left panel and turn it on if it is OFF.
  • Close the Camera and Launch Window.

Your issue with this error code will be fixed immediately if the camera itself has been switched off. Otherwise, review the strategies shared below.

Method 2: Change Settings in Antivirus

For security purposes, certain antiviruses have the choice of not allowing the camera to be used. Go to the settings if you have an antivirus and see if you are not allowed to use your camera by accident (Webcam).
If you don’t see either of these solutions, simply temporarily switching off your antivirus. Go and start the camera now and see if the issue continues.

Method 3: Update Drivers

If you are running Error Code 0xa00f4244 on Newly Installed Windows 10, then it is very clear that you need New and Modified Camera Drivers. Integrated or external, up-to-date drivers are mandatory for both cameras. Updating drivers is quite a job, and discovering the correct drivers for your hardware will take a lot of time.

– If you have Integrated Camera problems, then check the website of your manufacturer for the correct drivers. You should also go to Extend Imaging Devices, the System Manager, to locate your camera. Right-click it and click the System App Upgrade button.

– If you have an external camera attached and you have a problem with it, then you can locate your external camera by going to System Manager, Under Sound, Video and Game Controller.

Again, right-click on the name of your camera and do the System App Upgrade. A new window will open up where you have to click Check for modified driver apps automatically. Your PC and the Internet will now be looking for the appropriate drivers.

Note: if you don’t see your camera in the System Driver, insert your camera into another port and see if it is displayed to you now. If it still doesn’t appear, click the Check icon at the top for hardware updates, or click Actions > Scan Hardware Changes.

Method 4: Roll Back to Windows 8.1 or 7

This one is only for users of Windows 10. If all 3 solutions fail to correct the camera error code that is not operating on your Windows 10, your camera might not be compliant with Windows 10. Have you got an Old External Camera? Then, on Windows 10, it could not work.

Only roll back to the previous Windows update and this might very well solve the issue with the camera. Our analysis and discussion of this unique error code have demonstrated that the issue has been solved by rolling back to Windows 7 or Windows 8.1. This can only work if your camera functions well and it ceases working after updating to Windows 10.

That’s it; these are four approaches I wanted to share that could help visitors address Windows 10 Error Code 0xa00f4244. If you have considered some of the above measures helpful, please let us know in the comments below.
